Through the close of 2019 and the course of 2020, Skellig Consulting has been working with NHS England (London Region), Pharmacy London and North East London Pharmaceutical Committee (the latter two organisations being the bodies that represent community pharmacy across London) on a major piece of work to produce and launch Pharmacy Strategy 2020.
As part of the project team, Skellig Consulting was instrumental in the stakeholder engagement, building the strategy document and developing the supporting summary documents.
In addition to editing the Strategy, Skellig Director, Johnny Skillicorn-Aston, facilitated Pharmacy London board development sessions and managed the Strategy launch in September.
“Community Pharmacy is a vital health and social asset in our communities, so I was delighted when Skellig Consulting was asked to be part of the project team. Community Pharmacy is so much more than a place where you get a prescription dispensed and Pharmacy Strategy 2020 sets out the wider service offer that pharmacists and their teams can provide in keeping London healthy.
Its been interesting developing Pharmacy Strategy 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has really demonstrated the strength of the sector in seeing, treating and keeping people well. Skellig Consulting is proud to have been associated with such an importance advance in the Capital’s community pharmacy services.”
- Johnny Skillicorn-Aston, Skellig Consulting
“Skellig Consulting supported the development and launch of the London Community Pharmacy Strategy 2020. Its Director, Johnny Skillicorn-Aston, was the Strategy Editor and managed the communication and engagement up to and through launch.
Johnny understood our core editorial and communication needs from the start. We knew we had a good ‘product’, but it needed shaping into a strategy that would resonate with a range of stakeholders and attract their buy-in. He took that task on and delivered perfectly in line with our objectives and designed and wrote the strategy summary document. The service he provided went somewhat beyond the original brief, preparing briefing papers for Government Ministers and authoring of follow-on articles in the professional press.
Skellig Consulting really got to the heart of our organisation, our goals and delivered a complex project across a diverse stakeholder base.”
Chair, Pharmacy London
“Skellig Consulting offers both strategic and tactical external relations, communications and internal communication support. Its offering always delivers above and beyond and its Director, Johnny, is adept at assimilating an organisations culture, conventions and practices within his approach to the support he provides. In addition to the commissioned work, Johnny also facilitated some of our Board meetings. In particular, helping us to shape a response to the national Wright Review of Pharmacy Services.
He is a skilled facilitator, negotiator and communicator and we benefited hugely from this extra level of support, ultimately arriving at a cogent and coherent policy position in respect to the Wright Review.”
